Council for Academic Excellence
Council for Academic Excellence
The Council for Academic Excellence is committed to honoring and encouraging students in college bound classes at Benton Central High School. In keeping with this commitment, the council sponsors a spring banquet for students, parents and favorite educators, where all qualifying students receive academic recognition. A scholarship is awarded at the annual senior awards night for the graduating senior earning the most points.

The student must earn an A (not A-) in an AP, Honors, or ICC (Indiana College Core) class.
A = 1 point
1st year award - Junior year - 10 points
2nd year award - Senior year - 15 points
1st year award - Senior year - 13 points
Calculations of these point totals are the student’s responsibility. The academic advisors verify the point totals in February of each year. -
We are pleased to have established the tradition of the honors banquet. This banquet recognizes excellence in education and celebrates our juniors and seniors who have achieved the set standards and honors the educators who have impacted their lives. It is a memorable evening for the students, their parents, and their favorite educators. Eligible students and their favorite educator will be honored at a banquet in the spring.
